Email Security
Email remains a most-critical communication tool within education. Unfortunately, this also makes email a top threat vector for attacks.
Our email security accommodates flexibility and multiple ways to detect and block unwanted electronic mail from the Internet. Participating districts route email transparently through a cluster of gateways at the RIC, filtering email based on a combination of rules, subscription lists, and sandbox analysis, and then delivering allowed email to the district's email server. The security solution encompasses a cluster of servers for load balancing, providing high availability for email routing. Districts gain an additional benefit of earlier protection from threats detected by other districts participating in the service.

Exchange/Exchange Online
Microsoft® Exchange® is email with calendaring and scheduling. This service supports MS Exchange email, including the Regional Directory and email spam and security filtering for all mailboxes. Mail servers can be hosted in-district or hosted by the WNYRIC.
Microsoft© Exchange Online provides email in the cloud with contacts, calendaring, and scheduling. Exchange Online is part of the MS Office 365 suite. Districts can have fully functional email and not have the cost or tasks involved with server support (backup, storage concerns, application monitoring, upgrades, etc.). Access to the Regional Directory and WNYRIC-hosted email spam and security filtering are included with the service. Documentation and training for staff plus admin support for technicians are included as well.

Gmail
Google© Gmail is electronic mail in the cloud with contacts, calendaring, and scheduling. Part of G Suite for Education, formerly, Google Apps for Education, districts can have fully functional email and not have the cost or tasks involved with server support: backup, storage concerns, application monitoring, upgrades, etc. Access to the Regional Directory and WNYRIC-hosted email spam and security filtering are included with the service. Documentation and training for staff and admin support for technicians are part of the service as well.

The Intradyn Cloud application from Intradyn provides an archival solution for school districts using Gmail, local MS Exchange, MS Exchange Online, or email applications. Every email sent or received is collected in the Intradyn Cloud application. Staff can search their archived email, reducing storage needs in the district's email application. Administrative-level access allows for email investigations. Intradyn Cloud helps meet regulatory compliance laws. The solution not only captures email sent and received, but encrypts, compresses, and indexes all email information for speedy search and retrieval.
