Mary Jo Casilio Named Supervisor of Professional Development, Leadership, and Mentoring
Mary Jo Casilio has been promoted to Supervisor of Professional Development, Leadership, and Mentoring. This was a role vacated by Jessie Karches earlier this fall when she was named an Associate Director.
Mary Jo has served as a staff development coordinator for Erie 1 BOCES, working closely with K-12 teachers and building leaders across WNY for the last 15 years. She leads professional development, mentors new teachers, and offers support relative to reading and writing across the curriculum. In addition, she has managed the Advanced Placement Summer Institute and coordinated services for the Title IIA Consortium.
Her years of service to Erie 1 BOCES, strong leadership skills, and extensive knowledge of strategic planning, professional development, and mentoring made Mary Jo a natural fit for this position. In this role she will lead our team of professional development coordinators for curriculum and instruction, assist districts in creating strategic plans, and serve as a liaison for schools in need of teacher mentoring and professional development.
Congratulations Mary Jo!
While we move through this transition and look to fill Mary Jo’s coordinator role, all district requests and issues should still be directed to Jessie Karches.
