230 Students take part in the 2nd Annual Student Art Competition

Erie 1 BOCES, in partnership with Villa Maria College, welcomed more 230 students from 13 districts ranging from grades 6-12 for the second annual Student Art Challenge. Students were presented with a prompt and had two hours to utilize a medium of their choice to create a finished piece of art. A team of judges representing art institutions and education programs from around Western New York evaluated their works and named award winners. This year, 13 students from Erie 1 BOCES participated in the event from both Calspan and Maryvale. Alyssa Meyer from Calspan took home a third-place prize in her age group.
