Renee Sossong-Brady recognized by STEM Hub
Professional Development Coordinator Renee Sossong-Brady is the recipient of an honorable mention for the Dr. Rod Doran STEM Educator Award. Renee works with multiple districts to integrate STEAM into the K-12 curriculum. She was nominated for the award through WNY STEM Hub by Frontier Central Schools’ Director for Instruction and Curriculum, Colleen Duggan. The award is given in memory of UB professor emeritus Dr. Rod Doran to honor a STEM educator who creates experiences that ripple beyond their own world. Recipients were honored at a luncheon on November 8.
Kathryn Huber receives Amazing Person Award
Kathryn Huber, manager of the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Grant at Erie 1 BOCES, was recently awarded the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance’s Amazing Person Award for the Western Zone at the NYS AHPERD Annual Conference. For 18 years Kathryn has worked closely with educators to promote wellness. She works with NYS AHPERD to run the Western Zone’s annual conference, allowing for registration fees and membership to be state aidable and leading to the highest-ever participation.
