Congratulations Maureen Taylor
After 31 years at the WNYRIC, Maureen Taylor celebrates her retirement.
Nestled in a quiet corner of the Erie 1 BOCES Education Campus you will find the desk of Maureen Taylor. It is a space she has occupied for more than two decades as the Western New York Regional Information Center (WNYRIC) Customer Service Representative. After thirty-one years of service at the WNYRIC Maureen is heading off into a well-deserved retirement.
Maureen’s first career was in the hospitality industry. She then came to the WNYRIC as a temporary employee working in both test scoring and as a teacher. After completing her Masters in Educational Computing, she took on her current role.
She has spent her career working with thirty-three of WNYRIC’s component districts, including all of Erie 1. When asked why she loved her work, Maureen said “it’s my passion to help people,” adding that she enjoys working with districts to problem solve and get answers to their questions. “The relationships Maureen has formed with the districts is undeniable. They absolutely love her.” said WNYRIC Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Elizabeth Freas.
In her retirement, Maureen looks forward to spending time with her husband and sons and doing some traveling. “Everyone here at the WNYRIC wishes Maureen nothing but the best in her retirement. We are so thankful for her service,” adds Freas.
